POSITION SUMMARY: At Republic Services, Technicians play a critical role in maintaining the performance and quality of our fleet. A Technician performs routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. The C Technician program will train a diesel program graduate on our specific equipment, maintenance processes and standards to help the technician gain the confidence needed to meet standard repair times and with high level quality repairs in their own shops. In the four weeks of training, they will learn:

• Electrical diagnosis troubleshooting & repair of starting & charging systems.

• Air conditioning & heating diagnosis, troubleshooting & repair.

• 609 Certification

• Air brakes/ABS component identification, inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting & repair.

• Brake inspector certification

• Hydraulics component identification, inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting & repair.

• Hose making (certification optional)

• Frame & Tires

• Scan Tool intro

• Transmissions, PTOs component identification, inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting & repair.

• Truck Body Style Familiarization

• Truck preventative maintenance.

• Online training: Cummings, Eaton, PACCAR, Meritor, Hendrickson, McNeilus, and Heil

The Republic Services Technician C Tech program has opportunities available across the United States for a C Tech to join the team in one of our 180 business units. This outstanding career opportunity was created for aspiring Technicians to earn while they learn!

THE C TECHNICIAN EXPERIENCE

Republic Services Technical Institute offers a unique learning and development environment in which employees will gain on-the-job work experience while completing their technician education.

Your employment will start with four (4) weeks of company-paid training at our brand-new state-of-the-art Republic Services Technical Institute in Arlington, Texas.

In addition to acquiring cutting-edge technical skills, the Technical Institute will teach critical life and leadership skills while building strong professional networks across the Company to set you up for a long-term career at Republic. After completing the training, you will return to your assigned business unit where you will work your assigned shift.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance under direct supervision, to include but not limited to:

• Tire changes and replacements;

• Tire rotations;

• Hose replacements;

• Light replacements;

• Repair and replacement of small parts; and

• Checking and filling fluids.

• Through course work and on-the-job training, the trainee gains an increasing level of knowledge of basic heavy duty Class 8 truck maintenance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

We will provide the technical training you need to succeed in your career. In return you need to be committed to completing this one-year program.

Our ideal Technician will be a logical problem solver with an interest in engineering and technology.

• Graduate of Diesel Technology Program from Vocational High School (CTE), Military, Technical School, Community College or equivalent and/or 1-3 years diesel entry level diesel repair experience.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some nights/weekends or holidays.

• Must be willing to travel to & live in Dallas, Texas for 4 weeks of in-person training.
