Job Description

The Satellite Site Operator is responsible for the day-to-day field operations of a satellite processing site, which includes writing tickets, performing wash bay operations and operating a centrifuge. The Satellite Site Operator must conduct all activities according to regulations and relevant Company policies and procedures; and interact with all customers in a courteous and respectful manner.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Reports to, and follows directions from, Supervisor and/or Manager.

  • Determines content of material entering facility to property bill the customer. Accepts or rejects waste load based on content; suggests alternatives based on special waste, type of waste and/or local market training.

  • Documents the waste entering the facility, utilizing truck scales and computer systems. Tracks total amount of waste entering the facility.

  • Troubleshoots equipment, prepares daily reporting, performs on the job maintenance, and orders equipment and supplies.

  • Unloads various vessels containing non-hazardous oilfield waste such as tanks, trucks, and boxes with the use of various equipment.

  • Cleans any vessel containing waste.

  • Understands all piping, valves and flow through wash bay area.

  • Operates heavy equipment, various pumps and pressure washers needed to clean and maintain facility and containers such as tanks, boxes and trucks.

  • Operates, monitors, maintains and repairs mobile centrifuge and/or solids control equipment.

  • Runs continuous tests on the solid discharge and effluent discharge on centrifuge units to ensure that the centrifuges are set for optimum performance.

  • Attends all required safety meetings and conducts all business activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

  • High school diploma or GED. (Required.)

  • Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry.

  • Ability to complete routine forms.

  • Basic math and computer skills

  • Ability to define problems, establish facts and help draw valid conclusions.
