Job Description

The Payroll Analyst oversees and is responsible for analyzing and implementing the configurations of the daily rules, accruals and attendance policies in the Company’s Payroll System. The Payroll Analyst also manages the integrity of the data from the Time and Attendance System, third party vendor systems to the Payroll System(s), as well as, develops and implements improved processes. The Payroll Analyst supports the tasks and initiatives of all payroll systems and processes and performs critical functions related to the payroll processes and other relevant compensation and tax issues.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Drafts, creates, configures and implements terms and conditions of daily rules, union contracts and/or other Company policies into the Payroll System.

  • Analyzes compliance of the terms and conditions of the daily rules, union contracts, time and attendance and/or any other relevant Company policies within the features of the Payroll System.

  • Creates and maintains metrics to evaluate payroll and data performance.

  • Creates flow charts for Company payroll and time and attendance processes.

  • Provides technical expertise and analytical support within the Payroll System to support the field and provide added guidance regarding payroll process and issues.

  • Creates complex ad-hoc reports pertaining to the Payroll System based on field requests in order to assist in managing and evaluating employee and payroll data. Provides guidance and recommendations to the field based on the analysis of the data extracted from the Payroll System and synthesized in the reports.

  • Prioritizes tasks and initiatives in conjunction with and in support of the payroll systems and processes.

  • Develops implements and conducts sustainable training programs for supervisors, managers and payroll users.

  • Addresses and develops interface errors by improving payroll processes.

  • Leads, organizes, and develops projects for payroll as necessary.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience (required).

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).

  • Minimum of 3 years of Kronos ISeries experience.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with a Lawson Payroll System.
