POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate Analyst, Pricing Operations is responsible for processing monthly updates of data, assisting with the maintenance of Revenue Management department databases, executing monthly price increase processes and fee programs in all lines of business and reporting on key pricing and customer metrics. The Associate Pricing Operations Analyst is also responsible for supporting data needs for the National Accounts Proposal Team.
Assists in preparation and processing of monthly price increases in a timely and accurate manner
Facilitates various data uploads into billing systems and reports results back to field
Manages, monitors and responds to requests/correspondence directed to the Pricing Team “mailbox”
Processes individual hauling company and landfill price requests
Uses established Excel-based and other Company standard templates to calculate profitability and revenue
Maintains Fuel and Environmental Fees tables
Maintains Trux Databases as related to Fees, minimum pricing and requests for price adjustments
Prepares pricing/financial data for forecasting and annual budget process as needed
Maintains and runs recurring reports using SQL, SSIS, R or similar tools
Maintains databases of customer risk scores, customer cost and profitability data and other key pricing metrics, refreshing values monthly
Writes and executes queries in SQL environment for analysis and ongoing reports
Validates/reconciles large quantities of data against source systems, industry norms, current trends and common business acumen
Monitors, analyzes and reports on key tracking metrics including average price, customer retention, customer behavior, and customer acquisition rates
Establishes a system of documentation, communication and review of internal and external comparative price data
Assists in preparing analysis to assess actual performance against budget, prior year and recent trends
Articulates findings and recommendations to internal customers with ease
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Two years of progressive experience with sales, pricing and/or financial analysis
Waste industry experience
Pricing analysis experience
Bachelor or advanced degree in finance, economics, math, engineering, computer science, or equivalent
High school diploma or GED
Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas
Familiarity with MS SQL or other SQL variants; ability to write basic queries, aggregate data and check for duplication
