The Senior Manager, Organizational Development ensures the health of the Republic Services talent pipeline through effective performance management, talent assessment, employee engagement and high potential identification and management processes. In addition, the Senior Manager, Organizational Development provides consultation to leaders regarding change management, organizational culture and design, talent management, and team effectiveness.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proactively addresses and responds to organizational development issues by bringing key stakeholders together to assess root causes and performance gaps, implementing and/or supporting implementation of appropriate interventions, including strategic planning, tactical and project planning and performance analysis.
Provides coaching, team development, whole systems analysis, and organization development services to implement improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic plans.
Develops and implements processes and tools for talent reviews and succession planning; organizes and facilitates talent sessions with managers.
Supports completion of internal/external surveys for awards, benchmarking, and best practices as needed, including compiling internal information, partnering with internal departments, and drafting communications.
Develops and implements long-term strategies to drive desired culture and engagement of all employees across the organization.
Serves as project team lead and facilitator for supporting change leadership projects involving complex business and implementation issues.
Provides direct support to identified high potential employees and leaders – including assessment feedback and development planning.
Assists with organizational design as requested.
Seeks to increase the effectiveness of the organization by identifying and implementing processes that will help improve the ongoing operation of the organization on a continuous basis, as it relates to people.
Creates and disseminates internal communications to stakeholders of key changes in processes, to share best practices, and to support operational effectiveness.
Provides input and support to the departmental budget process.
Reviews reports and other performance metrics to analyze effective and ineffective trends to determine the impact of organizational development initiatives. Make recommendations based on findings.
Conducts research to stay current with best practices and industry trends for assigned area/scope.
Communicates progress of current year’s organizational development programs and initiatives.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or similar discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources and/or Organizational Development supporting talent management processes and systems, employee engagement, and/or organizational culture (required).
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Solid relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
The ability to conduct business with little direction and work in an autonomous manner; this includes the ability to be a self-starter and utilize a proactive approach to achieve results.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
Ability to lead and work effectively with a broad cross-function of employees, external customers and vendors in driving organization change.
