POSITION SUMMARY: The App/Programmer Analyst 3 (iSeries) is responsible for developing, configuring, coding, testing, and debugging complex new software, enhancements to existing proprietary software or purchased software packages. In conjunction with functional users and IT Business Systems team, the App/Programmer Analyst 3 (iSeries) assists with the design and documentation of the company’s application software environment, regularly provides guidance and training to less experiences programmer/analysts, and is responsible for leading application development projects of a very high complexity.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares and drafts detailed technical specifications from which complex programs will be written or configured.

  • Analyzes and writes high quality code according to specifications.

  • Performs code reviews and performs all necessary follow-up action.

  • Follows all required Company policies and practices relating to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Leads and assists application programmer/analysts in defining application system scope and objectives through research and fact finding.

  • Provides Tier 3 support and resolution of open IT issues escalated by IT Customer Support.

  • Develops, creates and implements project plans for application software implementation activities of medium to high level of complexity.

  • Maintains strong vendor relationships to resolve problems and coordinate the delivery of IT products and services.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with:o XML documents, XSD-creating and understanding XML Schemas XSD, XPDL2.2, translations, XSLT.o PDM, SDA, DBU, Query/400o Aldon Change Management or equivalent AS/400 Change Management software.o IBM RDI Tools (Rational Developer for System i).o HTML, Javascript, Java for the iSeries.o Data retrieval and integration across multiple platforms.o Stored Procedure development.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field of study or minimum of 8 years of related experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with RPG/LE, CLLE Programming, iSeries/SQL.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with ILE Advanced concepts (Procedures, Service programs, Functions, Free RPG coding syntax).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with complex SQL concepts and programming.
