In this role, the chosen candidate will be responsible for translating business and technical requirements into architecture design artifacts that guide the development and/or implementation of business solutions. The Solution Architect will also be responsible for choosing the appropriate technology platform on which business solutions will be implemented, while adhering to established Enterprise Architecture tenants, design patterns, and guiding principles.
This position provides technical oversight to strategic projects, as well as technology verticals within their area of expertise. It requires the ability to effectively lead multiple initiatives concurrently, while also providing direction to ensure the stability and scalability of existing systems. In addition, the Solution Architect must have strong business strategy acumen in order to forge and maintain effective business relationships.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Owns the development and coordination of roadmaps depicting movement from current to future state, as well as guiding the IT organization in reducing complexity, and simplifying the delivery of services and solutions.
Leads investigation, planning, coordination, and preparation of feasibility studies relative to new and/or modifications to existing capabilities in assigned areas.
Produces Architecture approaches (Conceptual, Physical, Logical) for large and/or architecturally significant IT initiatives.
Serves as an architectural or subject matter expert advisor to senior IT management, and mentors junior level technical staff within multiple functional areas of the IT organization.
Partners with business stakeholders to design next generation technology solutions, while continuing to support existing business capabilities on legacy systems.
Participates/leads Enterprise level governance bodies such as Architecture Working Group.
Researches, analyzes, determines capabilities and proposes technology solution alternatives that address specific business needs across lines of business.
Reviews low level solution design for adherence to provided Architectural approaches, as well as principles and standards.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
A minimum of 10 years of direct experience working with a variety of technology systems, designing solutions, or developing business applications.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including agile and waterfall methodologies.
Deep understanding of the current state of enterprise infrastructure, automation and orchestration, continuous integration/deployment, security, networking, and cloud-based delivery models.
Proven knowledge of servers, storage, networks and high availability architecture.
Strong understanding of Cyber Security requirements and demands as they relate to infrastructure provisioning and operations.
Experience designing, implementing and managing high availability/ clustering and disaster recovery environments
Ability to interact with executive level customers and appropriate representatives to analyze, validate, specify, and document infrastructure requirements.
