POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Company’s health & welfare benefit plans. The position will serve as a key resource to the benefits team and both internal and external stakeholders to help resolve issues with a high level of customer service. Executes project-based work throughout the calendar year, including Open Enrollment and various internal audits. Other duties may include leave management and wellness program administration in coordination with vendor and internal workflow.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for day-to-day administrative functions related to health & welfare administraiton, including but not limited to the company’s core benefits programs, employee discounts, leaves of absence, and wellness programs.

  • Effectively communicate with employees in a timely manner, respond to correspondence for employee benefits related issues and concerns, and provide customer service support to internal and external customers.

  • Assist with review and update of benefit materials and participate in various Open Enrollment and year-end activities

  • Stay current with federal, state, and regional legislation changes.

  • Provides support to develop and deliver employee communications; including employee communication materials and vendor communications.

  • Coordinate vendor management, wellness and leave initiatives to ensure their level of service is delivered to the Company’s expectations.

  • Facilitates problem escalations and either resolves them or escalates them to the appropriate level for resolution.

  • Coordinates information gathering for annual audits, valuations, compliance testing, government filings, benefit committee meetings and other duties related to benefit plan administration.

  • Responds to subpoena and ERISA requests.

  • Administers, tracks and makes recommendations for all collective bargaining agreement benefit language and provisions.

  • Coordinates on-boarding of acquisition groups to the companys H&W plans.

  • Assist with the development/review of Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs, benefit summaries and booklets.

  • Assists and participate in vendor implementations.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field with an emphasis in business, finance or related field.

  • CBP, CEBS, and/or SPHR designation is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with collectively bargained benefit plans.

  • Ability to multi-task and complete complex projects while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to build effective working relationships by demonstrated competence in customer service skills and professional telephone demeanor.

  • Strong attention to detail with effective planning and priority setting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team to meet common goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience related to benefit program administration.

  • Strong working knowledge of benefits requirements including ERISA and compliance requirements and practical knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
