POSITION SUMMARY: The Microsoft Unified Communications (UC) Engineer collaborates cross-functionally to ensure the following: operations and support of MS Teams endpoints, including PC, Mobile, Room and Surface Hub devices. This encompasses, implementation, administration, performance/incident management and lifecycle management of Microsoft certified hardware/software. The UC Engineer will have proficiencies in Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager and Teams voice/calling to ensure operation, reliability and scalability of all integrated systems.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in maintaining, configuring, and sustaining the Microsoft Teams UC environment (VOIP, PC, Mobile, Room and Surface Hubs Collaboration).

  • Collaborates with Network, Systems UC engineering teams to develop a Teams voice and network design for all Microsoft UC applications.

  • Responsible for updating, participating, and implementation of UC projects.

  • Possesses knowledge of LAN technologies (Layer 1, Switching, etc.) and collaborates cross-team in support of remote business units.

  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the industry and understands the implementation of new and emerging technologies.

  • This position may require travel by air, car and/or other modes of up to 25% of the time.

  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MS-700 certification for Microsoft Teams

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years related experience of collaboration configuration and support

  • Teams and O365 Administration

  • Active Directory and Azure Active Directory Administration

  • Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager

  • Powershell commands/scripting

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Minimum of 3 year of IT related experience directly responsible for Microsoft Systems Administration

  • Minimum of 1 year of direct experience with Microsoft Unified Communications, Teams administration, Active Directory, Microsoft Intune and End point Manager

  • Basic understanding of Cisco Call Manager

  • Experience with Voice Gateways (analog, digital and SIP) and dial plan design.
